A two day conference focusing on the importance of person-centred thinking and planning sponsored by Community Living British Columbia. Over 225 service providers, self advocates, family members and professionals from around the province, along with CLBC board members and senior staff, attended From Good To Great; Developing Person-Centred Agencies in British Columbia, a conference held in Vernon on June 16 and 17, 2005.

The report recognized that while significant work had been achieved, much remained to be done. Of the 15 recommendations in the report, three were identified as needing resolution by January 31, 2004, for devolution to occur in June, 2004.

The report recommended that if these items could not be resolved by January 31, 2004, the establishment of CLBC should be delayed.

The report recommended that MCFD focus on transforming its service delivery system and stabilizing its budget prior to creating governance authorities.

The BC Institutional Legacy Trust Fund (LTF) was created by the provincial government through a Trust Agreement with the Victoria Foundation to benefit people who lived at Woodlands, Glendale, Tranquille and Endicott Centre. It is not intended to be compensation, but as a goodwill gesture in recognition of the difficulties experienced by many residents of the institutions.

Community Services Interim Authorities Act passed (Bill 65) (58KB pdf)   October 29, 2002  
The act enabled the creation of interim authorities in preparation for the move to community governance.
Eligibility for CLBC (38KB pdf)   The purpose of this policy is to provide clarification on the criteria and process used by CLBC to determine eligibility for its direct or funded supports and services. In addition, this policy addresses the need for consistency and equity in determining access to services.
Innovation Framework (111KB pdf)   A key objective of CLBC is to develop and implement an organization-wide framework that supports innovation and creativity.  This framework identifies key elements of CLBC's Innovation program and outlines specific actions CLBC can take to support innovation.
