Cathy Mortensen

Cathy is a Self Advocate in Smithers. She loves to play piano and enjoys being part of the Special Olympics. Cathy has won medals in the Standing Long Jump, 50 Meter Dash and Shot Put.

Involved with the Prince George Self-Advocate Group through AiMHi.

Wants to help better service for others with disabilities and to bring issues to the council from self-advocates and vice versa.
Ryan Taylor
Fort St John
Ryan is a very active Self Advocate in Fort St John. He is involved with his community association’s newsletter and volunteers with seniors in his community. Ryan is also employed, loves to play crib with his family and most of all loves to travel.

Eldon enjoys being part of Self Advocate activities; he contributes at dances by playing the music, plants flowers for the “green effect” and helps out at bake sales.

Parent to a 23 year old man with a great sense of humour, autism, and is also blind. Bonnie is a Resources parent for the Family Support Institute, volunteers with CHAAPS (therepuetic riding), and is a support worker in the Quesnel School District.
Barbara Warkentine (Vice Chair)
Prince George
Parent of an adult with a developmental disability. Barb is a Resource Parent for the Family Support Institute and a Board Member of AimHi in Prince George.
Terry Robertson

Terry and her husband have a 24 year old daughter with multiple disabilities who lives at home. Terry works for Vela Society for northern British Columbia. She is also a long time Resource parent for the Family Support Institute and sits on CLBC’s Provincial Advisory Committee.

Currently an administrator for a community agency. Interested in the needs of a diverse group of people.

Earnie is a family member and long time resident of Smithers. He is very involved in the community, housing issues and employment for people with developmental disabilities.

Kris has been an employee of AiMHi for over 20 years. As a Program Director she provides leadership in supporting people with developmental disabilities and their families, and is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the service delivery to people supported.
Sharon Taylor
Smithers
Sharon has been the Program Manager and Service Provider for New Directions Day Support Program for nineteen years. New Directions provides support to individuals with a developmental disability and their families in the Smithers area.
